The Birdcage Movie

Question description

Essay 2 Prompt—The Birdcage

While watching The Birdcage you should keep a critical eye toward the concepts of norms, values, roles, deviance, and sexuality to gain a better understanding of the ways that thoughts and behaviors are regulated and controlled. More specifically, the degree to which our behaviors are labeled as deviant as the lengths that we go to sometimes to conceal our deviance.

Whether you like, dislike, agree, or disagree is not the point of the assignment. This is not a movie review. You are, in fact, conducting qualitative applied research, and thus your answer should focus on the sociological aspects of the movie. You must cite the textbook, a course reading, or class lecture at least 3 times in this paper.

You must answer 10 of the 15 questions below. Remember, you should be conducting a critical analysis of what you see in the movie. Therefore, you will be giving your opinion and supporting your opinion/comments with social concepts and theories from the textbook and class lecture. Due at the start of class on Tuesday, November 14th. 3-4 pages double-spaced.
