For this assignment, you should put yourself in the shoes of a nursing specialist working with your chosen POI (mine is CHF, which focuses on women) in a leadership role such as supervisor, preceptor, or director. You are asked to make a presentation that will be used to introduce new registered nurses working in your health care system to your chosen POI. This presentation should be about how healthcare informatics and new technologies relate to your point of interest. The submission for the Assignment will be a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with speaker's notes.

A Short History of Health Informatics in the U.S. Healthcare System in Two Slides
Review of Health Informatics Laws, Policies, and Rules (Talk about at least three of the following: 21st Century Cures Act, Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act), Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act (FDASIA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Affordable Care Act (ACA)): 3 slides
Current Emerging Technology in Healthcare: What it is and how it relates to your point of interest (e.g., telehealth, telemedicine, electronic health records [EHRs]): 2 slides
Ideas that are new (2–3 slides): Creation of an application: Suggest a new application ("app") that could be used with your POI. Start by looking at the health apps that are already out there and thinking about what is missing and what would help the patients you are interested in. Then come up with your own proposal. Think outside the box with this Assignment. Think big and outside the box. Use what you've read in your textbooks and what you find when you look for current health apps to help you with this.

References: Five academic sources are needed.
If you leave out the title slide and the reference slide, the final product should have at least 10 slides. References should be written in APA 6th edition format on the PowerPoint slides. Notes from a speaker should be full and thorough. The notes should be written like a script for the presentation, so that the person reading them can understand everything on the PowerPoint slides.
