NUR 305 Website Assessment Guidelines and Rubric The web-based healthcare information assessment affords you the opportunity to assess healthcare education on the internet. As future professional nurses, it is imperative you provide your clients with appropriate recommendations for credible health information on the internet. The goal of this assessment is for you to evaluate a website of your choosing (such as the website of the AHA or ADA) by following the HONcode criteria (Health on the Net) available in the Module Five instructional resources. To successfully complete this assignment, you must complete the following steps:

1. Select a website which discusses a specific disease/disease entity (e.g., AHA, ADA) 2. Utilizing the HONcode criteria for evaluation, discuss each category (see below) showing evidence to support whether the website meets or does not

meet the criteria The evaluation should include the following elements:

A. Identification of author, credentials, and date of last modification B. A statement concerning confidentiality of data C. References or sources used in updating the website D. Any funding or advertising used (often a policy statement) E. Make sure your review includes an evaluation of the following eight main criteria based on the HONcode criteria:

F. Based on the HONcode criteria, discuss whether you as a professional nurse would recommend this site to your patient/family. Guidelines for Submission: Your web assessment should be submitted in the form of a Word document and must be a minimum of 1–2 pages. Formatting should be 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and one-inch margins. References and in-text citations should use proper APA formatting.
