The first step for nurses to take an active role in policy development and implementation is to understand thoroughly the issues. Identify a current health care issue, regulation, law, or policy being considered or debated by the American Nurses Association, a state board of nursing, or a state legislature. These issues can be found on the websites of these various organizations. In your post, please describe an issue and present your opinion, either in favor or opposing it, backed by evidence. Respond to classmates by either agreeing or disagreeing with their views of the issues, again, backed by evidence.
