There are different arguments on how students with severe disabilities should be tread. Some suggest that students with disabilities should be integrated with other students. The main reason behind this approach is that students with disabilities will be able to get formal and appropriate programs that other students are provided.
It is appropriate for students with severe disabilities to attend to neighborhood schools because this is where they get to understand and learn how to stay with other people. This approach enabled the disabled students to get equal opportunities with other students hence giving them freedom to select what they want. Students feel that they are not neglected hence they accept the way they are and will just do the best they can, (Coots & Stout, 2006).
On the other hand, students with severe disabilities should not attend neighborhood schools else they should go to their specific schools. The reason behind this is that they might be neglected with other students hence be unable to get the required education that they were to get. Another reason for this argument is that when they attend their special school, they will be able to be treated in a social way which provides them with all they need.
Attending neighborhood school will deny them some special services simply not all students in this school require such services, (Coots & Stout, 2006).From my own view, students with severe disabilities should attend to neighborhood school. Research shows that, although such students require social interaction with other students, special services which can only be provided in their clustered school is of more importance. Another thing is that students also require some special training which is not sufficiently possible in other schools, (Coots & Stout, 2006).
