Each and every person has his or her own skills and abilities but the difference arises as per the mode of providing these skills. We have different types of skills and abilities which mean that we actually don’t have same skills but we share the most common ones. The skills and abilities that we possess help us manage to deal with obstacles which affect our daily lives and there are those skills which help us in accomplishing some of the tasks that we are assigned with. Other the daily and specific types of skills that we have work hand in hand to ensure that we have managed and achieved our goals and objectives that we have set, (Howard, 2008).
Our abilities and skills are categorized into two major categories which are the foundation skills or abilities and the functional skills or the abilities. Under the foundation categories, three sub categories of skills and abilities that each and every human being should possess in order to have a smooth and bright future. We have the basic skills which are reading, writing, speaking, listening and the arithmetic.
We also have the thinking skills which include the creative thinking, decision thinking, problem solving and the knowing how to learn skills. The final category of the foundation approach is the personal qualities which are honesty or integrity, social skills, responsibility and self-management which are not common, (Howard, 2008).
Functional skills and abilities are the ones which help an individual accomplish the assigned task. We have the resource skills which actually help someone to manage resources accordingly and they include manage time skills, manage money abilities, manage human resources skills, manage materials and so on abilities. We have interpersonal skills such as the exercises leadership and customer care skills and lastly we have the information skills category which comprises of skills to acquire and manipulate information accordingly and others, (Howard, 2008).
In teaching physics, there are some few skills and abilities that are required to be present so as to get knowledge or skills that are taught. One of the most important skills required in this field is the skill of mathematics. In order to teach and understand physics, mathematics abilities or skills should be present simply because physics is full of math solving problems.
Another skill which is quite important is that of problem evaluating and coming up with directions on how to solve the problems. Scientific reasoning is among the skills and abilities that are of importance in the field of physics. Most of things learned in physics are scientific related which means that one should be in a position to reason in that direction, (Howard, 2008).

Value of Utilizing Assessment Techniques
The main categories used in assessment techniques include the formative and summative techniques. Assessment in general is the aspect of determining whether someone is relies getting the set targets. Teachers usually use different types of assessment techniques to determine whether their students are able to grasp what they are taught. According a research conducted on the importance of assessing a student, formative assessment is the best method which should be used in determining the progress of a student. The work of assessment is to provide the tutor with information on the progress and what should be done in improving or maintaining student’s level of understanding, (Smith, & Smith, 2004).Assessing techniques which do mirror our daily life are of important in many ways.
Teachers are able to know the response of students to the assessments and determine what the student knows and what she or he lucks in the learning process. Tutors get to evaluate students’ performance with the feedback they get from the way students answer the questions which are set for evaluation. Tutors become acquainted with knowledge which students should be offered in order to increase their level of understanding. Without the feedback that tutors are able to get from students, it turns difficult on ways of providing students with necessary help that will enable them get quality education for making their future to be better, (Howard, 2006).
Some of assessment techniques which reflect our life are of more important. The reason as to why they are important is that they provide information on areas that someone has some weaknesses and areas that you are smart. It’s important to determine someone strengths and weakness so as to know exactly the point where you will be likely to start or implement the reforms that you want to make. In some instances, we get to cheat ourselves that we know about something.
It is only after we are subjected to a certain assessment technique we know our status on that issue hence decide on measures to be taken so as to improve either the weaknesses or ways of maintaining the position someone has. Most students think that assessments are there to make them fail but actually the importance and the application part of assessments is to provide a forum where students and tutors are able to determine what they have achieved, where they have failed and what they should actually do in order to get the desired knowledge in the right time, (Gardner, 2009)
.High-stakes standardized testing is solely used for determining how decisions are required to be made. The high-stakes testing approach and the assessment testing techniques are both used to measure or determine performance but of different types. For high stakes, users use to determine how a school performs and the other one is used purposely for student’s related measures. High-stakes uses information from other assessment techniques so as to determine how the institution is performing and what need to be implemented so as to upgrade the level of education of the school thus creating an environment which is quite good for students.
In order to ensure that you have a perfect team of students, there is some certain combination of assessment techniques which should be used. Although formative is said to be the best strategy of evaluating a student, research as shows that use of submissive and formative approaches has been regarded to be the best combination. Some times it’s wise to let students evaluate themselves. This will actually enable students see their weak points and get the best measures to improve their points of weaknesses, (Howard, 2006).
