This week you will learn how to develop a course syllabus. Review and compare the examples of syllabi provided in your texts (Figure 13-2 in Iwasiw & Goldenburg and Box 10-1 in Billings & Halstead). Discuss your comparison in relation to required components in a typical course syllabus. Are all components present? Is the syllabus welcoming to students? In your opinion are the course goals or competencies (or objectives – terminology may vary) clear and measureable? Do the goals/competencies/objectives reflect the course description? Your discussion should address these questions and any other observations made. Support your opinions with scholarly references.
