The purpose of this assignment is to explore the nurses role in recognizing potential child maltreatment and to become familiar with state/national guidelines regarding mandatory reporting.
Create a PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following content areas:
Give an overview of child maltreatment and its connection on health.
Child maltreatment nursing assignment
Describe the prevalence of child maltreatment nationally and in your home state or state of residence.
Discuss the role of the Registered Nurse in addressing child maltreatment, including that of a mandatory reporter.
Describe the process of mandatory reporting of child maltreatment in your home state or state of residence. Include a review of your state\’s nurse practice act and state legal statutes.
Include a separate slide with specific information on the actual contact phone numbers/email or other pertinent facts needed to report a suspected case of child maltreatment in your chosen state.
PowerPoint requirements:

Length should be 10 to 15 slides, including title and reference page slides.
APA format 7th ed. to be followed for citations, references, etc. Please review this resource Actions for information on how to cite/reference with APA in your PowerPoint presentation.
3 to 5 relevant and peer-reviewed references are required
Introductory and conclusion slides are required. The conclusion slide should summarize key content/take away’s.
