Nurses are important people since we depend on them for delivery of health care to patients. However, medical centers are faced with the challenges of recruiting and retaining registered nurses (GAO, 2009). Therefore, there is a shortage of nurses in the United States and nurses are overworked. Due to this shortage, there is a high demand for nurse staffing agency and other medical professionals staffing agency. The demand for nurse staffing agency was discovered after a qualitative observation of registered nurses who practiced health care provision and their activities. The conditions of working of the nurses were used to make an analysis of the effectiveness of patient care delivery by registered nurses. This was done by accompanying the nurse to the rooms of patients and making observations on how the nurse performed their activities. These activities are identification and diagnosis of the patient status, evaluation and treatment which also involves the nurse’s responses and if effectively performed, then the health care is of quality (Santos, & Dourado, 2007).
This made it possible to determine the ability of the nurses to offer complete care and the performance of all the activities involved in health care. It also enabled the observation on extend to which nurses completed their activities. The ability of the nurses to monitor patients, recognize the clinical problems of the patients and act accordingly leads to quality care provision (Stanton, 2010). The observation showed that due to shortage of nurses, there was lack of complete information with regard to making health care decisions. Therefore, opening a nurse staffing agency will lead to better health care provision since it will minimize the shortage of nurses in the nation.
