We are long gone from the days of all of our meat being purchased from the country grocer and the country grocer having purchased it directly from a “Mom and Pop” ranch right down the road. Unfortunately, due to our booming population and a high demand for an economically produced, safe product, meat is a mass commodity. However, for this portion of the project I want you to find out what the consumer demands are for your selected specie/situation. Are the consumers being reasonable? Can your product still be reasonably priced and raised in a non-confinement situation? What are the issues consumers have with the raising of your specie? Are consumers even aware how your product is raised? At a minimum please address the above questions and feel free to expand.
