| The criteria I will use to measure my goals are:
1. Positive feedback from colleagues and mentors regarding collaborative approaches to nursing education. 2. Positive feedback from students regarding the utilization of evidence-based teaching strategies and improvement of teaching skills. 3. Inclusion in faculty meetings and discussions concerning curriculum change and other policy areas. 4. Publishing reports after research and acceptance of these reports by relevant bodies.

I have not met my goals because engaging in scholarly activities and developing leadership skills requires time. However, I have been able to participate in various meetings to discuss matters of policy and curriculum change in the institution. I have been able to develop my portfolio that I intend to use for the evaluation of teaching and individual scholarship activities. |

| Reflection: I have spent most of the time this week analyzing my roles as a nurse educator and how to engage in the scholarship of teaching. I have realized that nurse educators have more important roles outside the classroom environment. Through identifying problems, asking questions, gathering evidence, and drawing conclusions, nurse educators can improve various aspects of nursing education. Engaging in scholarship and teaching requires a lot of time and a great deal of self-input through reading and research. Based on what I have gathered, employing Boyer’s scholarship model in practice will be the best approach to achieving my set goals. Overall, priorities of scholarship and teaching should involve the domains of discovery, integration, application, and teaching.
