7 week promo sara: Support the argument
Pender, Murdaugh, and Parsons (2011) state \"Health disparities are the disease, disorders, and conditions that disproportionately afflict individuals who are members of racial, ethnic, minority, undeserved, and other vulnerable groups, such as those in geographic (rural) areas who are socially and physically isolated by the low-density dispersed population and limited community resources and services\" (p. 287). Nurses can impact policy, educate, advocate, and empower individuals to create conditions to eliminate health disparities in a given population. The diffusion of innovations theory when incorporated into health promotion planning has the potential to impact vulnerable communities.
Post your health disparity power point presentation and suggest a novel \"... idea, practice, or product (including services) that is perceived as new by an individual or other unit of adoption\" as a comment for threaded discussion (Sharma & Romas, 2012, p. 230) . In addition, comment on something new you learned from reviewing your peers presentations. You may suggest novel approaches to modify health disparities for this particular population. Think outside of the box.
