“Community ecology is the study of how communities function andgrow. More specifically, there are several key components tocommunity ecology, which are the communities geography, politicalviews, economy, and demographic views. A main way to achieve goalsand make a difference in a community are gatekeepers and CommunityCoalition Board (CCB). In order to become a gatekeeper, you have toearn trust, respect, and credibility from the community and provethat you will truly help a community. Some of these individualsinclude activists, social workers, church leaders, and schoolleaders. Ways that these communities gatekeepers gather informationfor the community are through surveys, direct mailings, andcommunity forums. Gatekeepers help develop a Community CoalitionBoard which is created in order to reach a common goal for thecommunity. “
